The members of the cooperative normally cultivate 1-2 hectares of coffee that constitutes the main economic income in the family.
This coffee is grown in the surroundings of the Leuser National Park, a very rich and important forest ecosystem for the natural wealth of the coffee plantation.
The "Giling Basah" or Wet Threshing process is typical of Sumatra. Due to the high humidity in this area, a shorter drying process is sought, for that the last layer of the coffee is removed, the parchment, when the bean still has 30% humidity, when it is usual to do it when it has a 12 %.
