THE PASSION
Our journey began with a search for something more than just a cup of coffee. In 2019, Carlos Mateo Triana came to Spain to study and was surprised to find few options for authentic, quality coffee, in a market full of bitter flavors and unhealthy roasting processes. During his stay, he met Hajar Azanay, a fellow adventurer who shared his passion for coffee. Although Hajar is not from Colombia, her appreciation for quality, the finesse in each process, and the authenticity of coffee resonated with Carlos’ vision. Together, they decided to bring to Spain a coffee that was healthy, authentic, and full of history.
THE TAKEOFF
With Hajar’s financial expertise and shared passion, they embarked on a journey to create something unique, analyzing every detail with dedication. Their goal was to elevate your coffee moments to new heights, reaching the climax of flavor and quality.
Later, Eva Bourseau joined this adventure, bringing 15 years of experience in the global food and beverage industry. Her love of chocolate, wine and tastings drives her to seek out the best of each side and share it with the other. With her experience in intercultural gastronomy, Eva is happy to contribute to the company’s history and bring it to all coffee lovers.
THE CLIMAX
This is how Gigante Coffee was born, with its heart in Gigante, a picturesque town in Huila, Colombia. They began by importing coffee from this region, reflecting its humility and exclusivity, and over time expanded their reach to various parts of Colombia. Their mission is to expand the market for Colombian coffee farmers in Europe and elevate the coffee experience to new heights.
