Speciality DECAF coffee from BURUNDI Bwongera
Bwongera Decaf proves that decaffeinated coffee can be a top-tier specialty coffee. With 87 SCA points and a complex, floral profile, this Burundian coffee defies any preconceived notions about what caffeine-free coffee can be.
Grown by small producers in the Muyinga-Gashoho region of northeastern Burundi, at an altitude of 1,500 to 1,700 meters above sea level. It's a Bourbon variety, processed using a washed decaffeination method that preserves the full aromatic integrity of the bean.
In the cup, it's a full-bodied and well-structured coffee with good body, medium acidity, and a smooth, pleasant texture. Its aromatic profile features a floral fragrance with a chocolate base and notes of cocoa, honey, caramel, cinnamon, and flowers.
A green bag coffee: over 85 SCA points, a limited edition for those who don't want to give up specialty coffee, even if they've decided to reduce their caffeine intake.
