SPECIALTY COFFEE from COLOMBIA Nabusimake
Nabusimake means "the land where the sun is born" in the Ikun language, and it is the spiritual and cultural center of the Arhuaco indigenous community in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. Known as the capital of the Arhuaco people, it is a sacred place that invites silence, respect, and ancestral connection.
The Sierra Nevada is a mountain range in northern Colombia, distinct from the Andes, that runs through the heart of the country. With an elevation reaching 3,500 meters above sea level, located in three different departments and only 40 kilometers from the Caribbean coast, it boasts the highest coastal elevation in the tropics and one of the highest in the world.
The coffee in this region is cultivated primarily by indigenous communities. This coffee comes from the Arhuaco community of Chemesquemena-Nabusimake, where more than 45 families cultivate this specialty, led by Oliverio Villafaina.
