Specialty Coffee from Costa Rica Libis
In this coffee you will find fruity notes, pure dark chocolate, it shows us in flavor a predominant nuance of candied cherry and notes of liquor. A very intense coffee with a medium body and a bright finish.
With a production history dating back to the 1940s, the 12 Aguilera brothers continue a legacy of quality with a Cup of Excellence winning batch to their name.
As a team, they themselves take care of pruning, fertilizing, planting and processing 60 hectares of impressive farmland in Los Robles de Naranjo, Costa Rica. Since they work as a family, basically no hired labor is needed other than pickers during the harvest.
Most of the coffee the Aguilera family grows is Villa Sarchí, which is a mutation of the Bourbon variety first found on a nearby farm in Naranjo. These trees are compact and generally have less space between cherry nodes along the branches, which means higher yields per tree, while maintaining excellent cup quality!
Today, a young and motivated fourth generation is starting to oversee the day-to-day operations and taking a further step towards traceability and innovation by also exporting the green coffee!
